No one knows the outlands like I do. They don’t know the bend in the road will require them to slow down, giving the ambush team an opening to attack. This is the last of the coin I need to build an army. I will take the castle and make this land mine. My days of pickpocketing and stealing have led me to this moment.
I hear a voice say, “I hear the carriages approach.” Sonny always had sharp ears. “Squad, ready up!” We rush after the last car. The first one passes. The world starts to blur around me. I awaken on a strange ship.
“Where am I? Who has brought me here? They will regret this. Eowyn is my name, and I will conquer this world.”
I will steal and build an army of my own that I can trust. The first step, get off this ship alive. The second step, hire an army loyal to me.
